Figuring Out Pharma ("we," "us," "this site") is a personal editorial blog published by a B.Pharma student based in Mumbai, India. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit figuringoutpharma.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We have tried to write it in the same plain language we use everywhere else on this site.

What we collect

We collect very little, and almost none of it is collected directly by us. Specifically:

  • Site analytics — through Google Analytics (GA4), we receive aggregated, anonymised-where-possible data such as which pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location (city/country level, derived from IP address), device type, and the site that referred you here.
  • Newsletter sign-up — if you click "Subscribe," you are taken to our newsletter platform, Beehiiv, where you provide your email address directly to them. We receive your email address as a subscriber on our list, but the sign-up itself happens on Beehiiv's site under Beehiiv's own privacy policy.
  • Direct email — if you email us at [email protected], we receive whatever you choose to include in that email (your name, email address, and message).

We do not currently run a contact form, comment system, user account system, or payment system on this site, so we do not collect or store passwords, payment details, or any data beyond what is described above.

How we use it

Analytics data is used only to understand which articles are useful, how people find the site, and where to focus future writing. Your email address (if you subscribe) is used only to send you the newsletter you signed up for. Email you send us is used only to read and respond to you. We do not sell, rent, or trade any of this information to anyone.

Cookies & analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies in your browser to distinguish you from other visitors and to remember basic preferences (such as light/dark theme, stored via local browser storage rather than a cookie). We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking networks — there is no ad network running on this site.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's official browser opt-out tool. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to read any content on this site.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of external services to run this site, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics — site usage analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Beehiiv — our newsletter platform, used to collect and manage email subscriptions. See Beehiiv's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Pages — our hosting provider, which processes standard web request logs (IP address, browser type) as part of serving the site. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
In plain terms

We are a one-person blog, not an ad-funded media company. We have no commercial reason to track you closely, and we don't.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings. Newsletter subscriber data is retained by Beehiiv until you unsubscribe. Emails you send us are kept for as long as is reasonably useful for record-keeping, and deleted when no longer needed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK), the CCPA (California), or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — including the right to know what data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, and withdraw consent at any time.

To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or manage your subscription directly through Beehiiv. For any other request relating to your data, email [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for B.Pharma students, freshers, and professionals, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add new tools or services. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
